Waiting on Wednesday: Hold Me Like a Breath
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Breaking the Spine, where we spotlight an upcoming release we're eagerly anticipating.
My WoW this week is:
Hold Me Like a Breath
By Tiffany Schmidt
Hardcover, 400 pages
Expected Publication: May 19th, 2015
From Goodreads:
Penelope Landlow has grown up with the knowledge that almost anything can be bought or sold - including body parts. She's the daughter of one of the three crime families that control the black market for organ transplants.
Penelope's surrounded by all the suffocating privilege and protection her family can provide, but they can't protect her from the autoimmune disorder that causes her to bruise so easily.
And in her family's line of work no one can be safe forever.
All Penelope has ever wanted is freedom and independence. But when she's caught in the crossfire as rival families scramble for prominence, she learns that her wishes come with casualties, that betrayal hurts worse than bruises, that love is a risk worth taking... and maybe she's not as fragile as everyone thinks.
Tiffany is one of my favourite authors and this book sounds so completely different than what she's written that I can't wait to see what's in store for me! Sounds mysterious and dangerous and the cover is beautiful!
Oh and it's totally Tiffany's birthday today, so everyone should go say Happy Birthday to her!!

I don't think I've read anything by this author before, but I love the sound of this one! The combination of a crime family selling organs and their daughter, who is herself not completely healthy, should make for interesting tensions. Crime families fighting each other and intrigues and all that is also always something that is interesting to read about because it's so far away from my everyday life! Thanks for pointing this one out to me :)
